Keep in mind this is a FANFICTION about a boy band member that appeals to TEENAGE girls. It's a trashy book that romanticizes abuse and drinking. Hardin beats anyone who looks at Tessa to a pulp. Honestly, that's the only bond they have: sex. He has horrible, triggering anger rages and in the author's eyes the only thing that solves these problems are them having sex. He drinks every time something bad happens (He's an ANGRY, jealous drunk.). The character of "Hardin" isolates, humiliates and intimidates Tessa. what plot? Another thing that made people dislike it so much is the themes in it. It's almost hard to believe Anna Todd is twenty-five.
